Installing Your Mod File with Vortex

How to install a downloaded Facemod character mod into your game using Vortex, Nexus Mods' official mod manager.

By Facemod TeamUpdated

Requirements

  • Vortex (free, nexusmods.com/about/vortex)
  • The supported game already installed
  • A mod file downloaded from Facemod

Steps

1

Install Vortex

Download Vortex from Nexus Mods and run it once so it can detect your installed games.

2

Add your game

Open Vortex, select your game from the dashboard (or add it manually if it isn't auto-detected), and let Vortex deploy its mod loader for that title.

3

Add your Facemod mod file

Drag the downloaded mod file (or its .zip) onto Vortex's "Drop file(s)" area, or use Mods → Install From File. Vortex reads the file structure automatically.

4

Enable and deploy

Toggle the new mod on in the Mods list, then click Deploy Mods. Vortex handles load order and file conflicts for you.

5

Launch and verify

Start the game through Vortex's Play button so its mod injection is active, then load the relevant character select or scene to confirm the swap applied.

Tip: If the swap doesn't appear, check that no other appearance mod overrides the same character slot — the last-loaded mod usually wins.
